Blimey, nostalgic yes - a classic car? Mmmm not exactly the mental image I get when I hear the term classic car. I'd say interesting but ugly.

They have a massive following now and when new, won the rallycross when new and have their own racing series in the Netherlands now.

That one is 43 years old so yes it is a classic car.

Being a MK1 it is quite the survivor as those early cars had questionable build quality.

"I purchased this car from a youngster who had bought it to strip for parts for his project!"

The opening line from the description up there...

stripping it for a teenagers project.....glad he bought it off them before the car was destroyed, its in great condition why the **** would you strip it

Kids know nothing

Yes It was the 9th best selling car in the UK in the 1990's they never go wrong or break down or need any new parts broadly speaking.
Rust protection is much better after 1987.
The 343 was the European rallycross champion in 1980 with Gordini Tuning and turbo parts on the 1397cc Renault based engine around 250 bhp and the standard 50-50 weight distribution .
The Renault 1397 cc engine met with a few Volvo improvements , better quality Valves and pistons and bearing shells.which made them last forever..
