yes however thats where the lock off comes into play. the tilting action can be locked rather like the porche which has been lifted in the first picture and locked out to prevent rocking..thus giving the required space to work under the engine.
I mean dont get me wrong Im not a marketing agent for this thing..just thought it was a good idea for the DIY'r jobs on the car..and lets face it..if theres a job I cant do with this lift..then I'd probly take it to the nearest garage anyway.

Yes, I see a lock-strut there.
They should make a bit more of that in the video - given particularly, that safety is people's primary concern.
If I had a level, non-gravelled driveway, I'd be sorely tempted by this bad boy.

Just looked again and what I thought was a lock-strut is just a hydraulic damper.
Seems they use axle-stands for end-support, presumably because there's only so much torque the lock can withstand.
Still better than a trolley jack for ops where you need downward adjustability, like gearbox out for instance.

If they want to sell this product, they seriously need to make a video with time-lapse assembly and full operational demo that addresses natural concerns about such things as locking for front end ops and working limitations, etc.

IOW, they need to be as open as possible - because no-one's gunna lay out serious cash until their questions about safety and working limitations have been answered.

It may well be stronger in the metal than it looks, but there isn’t any cross bracing (diagonals) on the elevating frame so whats to stop it collapsing sideways, ever seen a scaffold without a diagonal brace? it's usually flat on the floor. Looks good for brakes and the such like.
