Hi oldbob according to the driver article Sunday at 9.00am grounds open for visitors Judging starts at 11.00am and last entry for the bkv at 1pm then the raffle will be drawn at 3.30pm followed by the prize giving at 4pm. All vehicles entering the working class must bring the last two test certificates.

Only members with a membership card will be allowed to be judged but hopefully ALL Volvo's as well as non members will be invited into the main showing area to park in the specific model line up.

Only people who booked ahead will be allowed in for the organised meal but all present are invited to the evening entertainment.
Regards Brian.

Apologies if this has been asked before but...

I will be coming along in my '78 244DL hopefully arriving at about 10am. With regards to parking, is there a designated Volvo area or just public parking? I'd rather not end up in an area where he's on full show as he's rather cosmetically challenged at the moment!

You only get judged if you want it , so you can still park with the other 240's .
Our Amazon will be parked with all the others but we won't be entering her for judging , she will be nice and shiny but not to the standard the bkv boys do .

Ditto, & my Amazon is only shiny when wet.... A combination of gleaming & scruffy makes fora good mixture in the line ups, and IMHO the tatty cars are often far more interesting than the ones which are barely used.

Roo, a '78 isn't a common car, I'd certainly like to see it and I'm sure a lot of others will too, no matter on anything else!

Hi there Roo I and a few other renegades campaigned for a long time to get "ALL" Volvo's in the showing line up area. This is now how it is and a very good thing too.

So non members are very welcome to park next to any car of the same model but cannot be judged for the best kept Volvo.
Upon entering the field you will be asked if your a member and if you wish your car to be judged. If your a member then please enter as each car has it's own merits. If your a non member but own a Volvo then make sure you tell the people who greet you that you wish to park in the car judging area but obviousely won't be entering the judging.

We do not want a recurrence of one event where non members weren't told and parked in the general car park. We want to encourage new members and by inviting them into the event they may well decide to pay and join as they see what a fantastic wonderful bunch we all are Lol.

Plenty of advice can be found relating to your car as we all tend to enjoy talking about them.

The BKV is about the best kept Volvo and still will be but even cars with a certain patina will be judged not only on shiny or not paint work they will be judged on other merits including originality and mechanical condition.

My old bus which is just a daily driver got quite good marks for the interior as it was all intact including the original headlining which is rare for a 740.

Looking forward to meeting lots of NEW faces this year, I'll be the fool wearing my name badge and user name! No I'm not an official but without it you never quite know who is who?

Regards Brian.
