surely a cylinder head wouldn't be that expensive!! or an engineer to sort what ever problems this car has?

It's a nice looking motor, I would be tempted to hang on to it until a cylinder head pops up here on the cheap!

first thoughts were to repair, but i dont have the knowledge to do the job myself and after a long chat with my mate (volvo mechanic for last 15 years also who's garage first inspected the car when the previous owner brought it to them), i've been told by him its not worth the time and cash, garage bill would be more than the profit margin

also its alot of work for someone who doesnt know what they're doing, plus my mates garage and the second garage i collected the car from have not carried out the work, for good reason to i would think

all in, i'd love to repair it and sell it whole, but money and time makes me think otherwise, its a very tidy car though and a real shame but everythings telling me to break it

That is a minter, pinhead.

Shame about the knackered engine.

Would it not be easier to throw in a replacement engine, rather that messing with the head and keep it on the road.

I assume it would need to be a GDi engine and not a standard Volvo one - compatibility issues?

Gatos mentioned the engine change idea, good idea but i thought it would generally put people off if the cars had a replacement engine with un-verifed mileage, or is that just me being stubborn? lol

in reality how much would this car be worth fixed, £1200 tops? i think it may be me slacking and just being a lazy git, but is it worth fixing?
