What tyres/alloys do you have? If you have 17"s with a 40 profile and the sport suspension, then it is possible that the ride will be felt a lot more. If however you have 15"s with the 55 profile and comfort suspension, then you would not feel a thing.

I have some new OEM strut mounts ready to fit... I wonder if they make a difference from 10 year old ones or cheap 20 dollar ones.
Need to find me a spring compressor.

My car has the sport suspension and when I had 205/50/16 on my 1.9D, I found the ride comfortable. Then we upgraded to 17" Arcadias with 215/45/17 and the ride is still comfortable but a bit harsher. However handling of the car is so much better and I prefer it this way. If the ride bothers you too much, then you could consider 15" alloys
