Hopefully some other dealer will pick up the franchise no doubts.

As for "strathstone" it seems Pendragon are dropping the chain from their group, so it wont just be volvo dealers going to the wall, any other franchise will/may be next for the drop.

i take this back now, the dealership may well be staying even if stratstones are pulling out, by all accounts.

If you go on the pendragon / stratstone job vacancy site they have removed volvo as a selectable franchise. Say bye to all Stratstone owned volvo sites.

This sounds more like a franchise removal by VCUK than the dealer closing unprofitable branches.

Hopefully this will be the case.

The derby branch used to be very good when it was the family owned Speeds group, but since 'Stratstoneisation' it has rapidly gone downhill as most of the good staff have left in disgust.

I called in this morning to try and get a Brake Position Sensor for my S80 (The one that causes the Cruise Control not to work when it fails) and was told that not only were then none in stock, but it'd be Wednesday before they got one and it'd be a good £30 more than I can get it from other Volvo dealers, let alone internet prices. I left muttering dark curses under my breath involving airborne vengeance from on high.........

This is the same Stratstones that wanted to plug my old 760 into VIDA to try and diagnose a problem, and the same company that within 2 weeks of taking over from Speeds raised the price of code/diagnostic work from £35 inc VAT to £70 +VAT.

I tell you, hanging's too good for 'em...........

I'd agree with Rupert and some others on the removal of the franchise... thank god!

I'd had a bump (ok... it was more than a bump) in a 2 month old V40... their body shop managed to fit the wrong grill to the car, chrome rather than egg crate.

Here's hoping that the Volvo rating goes up in the JD Power surveys now... although if you look at dealer satisfaction it's the Kia/Skoda/Subaru dealers that do well, and most of them are small local groups or traditional family dealer groups.
