I've just spent 20 minutes trying and cannot get it to work this time at all.

Anyone else come across this or have any suggestions? I drive to the Netherlands for 2 weeks on Monday so won't be getting much use out of the battery during that time, but reliability would be nice.

Thanks.
Your securing pin is not engaging into the plug properly. Once you plug into the socket on the side of the car, the car drops a pin into the plug to hold it in place. If the pin does not engage then the car will not charge. Try pushing the plug more firmly into the car. Mine used to play up but the dealer lubricated it and all is good since.

Hi,
I appear to have exactly the same issue with my 2018 T8 XC90. It’s booked into the main dealer next week. Did you get the problem solved?
Thanks
Bill

Have you tried lubricating the securing pin?

I've not booked it in for its recall yet, so haven't had the dealer look at it. I have not had a problem though the last few times I have recharged, so suspect the problem is intermittent and will not replicate when I do get to the dealer!

The bigger problem now is getting my podpoint at home to stay connected to the wifi to feedback to the podpoint app. Fortunately the Volvo app gives me most of the information.

It wasn't the pin not engaging and sticking then?

As for POD point I gave up on their app within about 48 hours of having the unit fitted......

I have an inline submeter in the feed which gives me power used which is all I really need.

I can't say that it wasn't the pin, only that it has not done it again recently. I'm certainly keeping an eye on it and if it does happen again, I will video myself to show the dealer what is happening. Sods law says it won't happen when I am there!

On reflection, probably be more useful if I video the car.

I can now report it has happened again. The car is not accepting the plug. I listened carefully and there is not the click you usually hear when the pin engages so it does look like this is the issue.

This is usually a fit issue. You might find it works if you jiggle the plug a bit. You could even try some silicon spray on the plug outside surface to help it into the car socket more smoothly
