Default polestar remap on a V60 D4 4 cylinder

Getting back into a volvo ( :-) ) it's a 2014 v60 D4 4 cylinder, a localish dealer is offering the polestar remap for £350,. which is tempting, but seems like it only goes from 187bhp to 200bhp?. Just wondering if anyone has done it?, is the difference worth it or would I be better getting remapped elsewhere as non polestar maps seem to take it to 220-225bhp

Go to BSR instead. You´ll get 250bhp. Polestar are not very interested in their engine upgrades since they started selling Polestar car. That´s what i heard.

Polestar is not a remap it's an "optimisation" so not aimed at getting the most power out the engine but making it more driveable.

Remember torque increases are more important with a diesel not bhp

These early (pre-2016) VEA D4s are rated at 181PS, which is more like 179bhp. So 200bhp would actually be a slighter greater improvement.

It you have an auto then I understand that the gearbox is also optimised during the Polestar remap, which some say is a significant improvement as important as the engine optimisation.

I've got a manual gearbox, so it doesn't seem to be particularly good value to me. I did look up the claimed gains at Celtic and they were slightly more impressive (215bhp, off the top of my head)

It was Lloyd volvo in Carlisle, I emailed both mill volvo Newcastle and Sunderland but haven't had a reply yet 😕, if they wont match, and to be honest Lloyd volvo have probably stopped the offer now anyway, than I'll probably go to the local guy I use as it will be £200

Yeah the normal price is around that (£700), I'd be temtped at £350 but not at £700 especially as the local place will do it for £200, Ive had 4 cars done by them without issue
