Default Lumenition On An Amazon 131

I need to replace the coil on my Amazon. Does anybody know a model of coil suitable for use with Lumention Optronic ignition? I am told it will need to be 3-3.5 ohms. All I know is that my current unit 4.5-5 amps. What the heck does ohms mean?

Help please!
Thanks

Ohms is unit of measure for resistance. Amps is current. Volts equals current times resistance.
Where did you get the spec for your current coil? I have never heard of one being specified in terms of current before.
I would have thought that your stock coil would be fine with the lumenition system.

I've fitted lumenition to my Amazon and it works fine with standard coil, giving a far stronger spark (this may mean that you may not need to change you coil after all). If you still do then any coil from a 12V non balast resistor type ignition will work. Also luminition produce their own coil which would be perfectly matched to their ignition unit.

hope this helps.

Thanks for your help. It transpires that a standard coil does suffice.

Thanks. I am going to use my existing standard coil and see how I get on.
