So it is the ERAD, we’ll have to wait for the part tocone in and it should be fully covered by the extended warranty. Hopefully the part will come in next week.

See that’s interesting because you drive a MY17 car(?) and I thought I had read that they had fixed this from 2017 onwards.

Your extended warranty is through the dealer I take it?

That might have been me, but I implied it only. I said maybe mid to late 2017 for the mod, but that is calendar year, not MY, but it was only a guess. Could have been later. As another thought there is a chance of course that some of the modified ERADs are still failing.....

I’m not sure when they fixed thev ERAD issue, maybe it was done after 2017. Mine is at the garage at the moment and apparently it’s a big job but I’m hoping to pick it up on Monday.
I’ve also asked them to check the batteries as it usually shows that I’ve got 39km to go after a full charge when I put it in pure but lately it shows 37km. It’s not a huge difference but I rather get it checked while it’s there anyway.

My dealer has got quite proficient at it now and can just do it in a day, but usually say 2 days to allow for any over run.....

Battery range dropping can be temperature dependent, has the weather changed with you lately?

Mine used to generally show 23 miles but lately it is more typically 19 miles although it does go up and down a bit. Mine has done 113k miles over 5 years though....

Default How did you get Volvo to cover the cost?

Hi

I have the same issue and car has just gone to Volvo. 2016 XC90 T8, 42.3k miles with full Volvo service history. Have managed to get them to discount to £2.5k but very keen to know how you got them to cover the cost

Thanks

Default 2021 XC90 hybrid - same issue

Just stumbled across this thread. Really interesting. Our 2021 XC90 Hybrid has this problem - 10k miles - and is booked in tomorrow for a ERAD Cam replacement (whatever that is!).

No quibble at all from the dealer which felt unusual for something that is (a) intermittent and (b) expensive! Kinda felt like they'd seen it before...

So looks like the problem continues...
