T8 R-Design order, spec help.
Hi there - I am just about to order a new company car through my business, and the T8 makes sense (given the CO2 etc etc). I am opting for the R-design, prefer the colour coded look in Jimmy Saville Grey.
I am trying to keep the monthly down to a half decent level, and after driving a few with and without Air, I am opting to leave the car on standard 20's. Will option Xenium pack, BLIS, family pack and Towbar. Any comments on options that I should defo think about adding, or removing. I know its well documented but does the R design 20" standard wheel / tyre combo suffer from excessive noise? and does it seem more D5 than T8 that suffer more? |

1. Winter pack or winter with HUD is a useful one 2. Seven seater comfort, air vents in the third row if you use the third row once in a while One thing to note - R Design doesn't have a heated steering wheel option. at least till now. R Design standard 20" is also on the noisy side if you ask me (similar to inscription), but its D5 again, not much on T8 as per responses so far

I think BLIS, Xenium , Winter packs are a must( if you can stretch that far).
The road noise is worst with Continental tyres.I have changed mine to( a lower decibel rated )Goodyear eagle tyres and the noise is much improved. Goodluck. |

Ring around and try to find a slot that will deliver pre Apr tax hike. If can't or reduced discount wipes out tax savings then make sure it's after mid-may as that should mean new model year - MY18.

I'd ditch the Family pack because of the extra noise that finds its way into the cabin through the gaps for the rear sun curtains and because the other bits in the pack are of limited appeal/use.
I'd definitely add the Winter pack and consider heated rear seats.

I went for the Hud, but to be honest its a bit of a gimmick, Also reflects badly back in bright sunlight on the windscreen which is very annoying. The heated windscreen is a much better option in my opinion. Rear heated seats a must for passengers, as I sometimes I am in the back. Auxiliary heater is also great for cold mornings, as long as you remember to keep a good charge in the battery, otherwise it will just fail to start the heater.
Plus heated steering wheel, which I could not get on my MY16 T8 R. Good luck with the order, and sure you will enjoy this fantastic car.

I love the heated steering wheel on mine but afaik it's still not available on the R-Design.
I have the Aux Heater and it's very good but it's now more difficult to justify since Remote Engine Start was introduced. I know others have had battery issues with it, but I never have despite using the aux heater a lot on short journeys and it has never failed to start.

holes but I do find them useful sometimes as I avoid privacy glass when i can (part of the reason it had to be momentum). Middle booster comes handy in occasional use for friends' kids, electric child lock is great when you often switch between adult and child rear passengers.
