your Pressure: 1021.00 mb is now accuweather,
if you are still getting 996mb then yes you need to change the sensor in the ecu, but could be a dry joint on the sensor, but I would say change it , if you can, or clone the ecu, |

The injector will need new wiring terminals which volvo sell, if it still occurs a new injector needed but the terminals usually work ...

Have you got 3 atmospheric pressure sensors ? the latest cars have 4 ! this makes it easier to compare the readings to find the faulty one . There is one in the ECU , one on the intercooler outlet stub , and in your case you might have one on top of the inlet manifold as well . In the last 5 years there have been quite a few boost sensors on the intercooler going out of specification . The most reliable is the one in the ECU I have never come across a faulty one . The ECU is coded to the car and holds the immobiliser codes , however you might be able to change the internal atmospheric sensor if the cost of the Used useless ECU is reasonable . However i would be very surprised if that sensor is faulty . Talking of looking up your local atmospheric pressure . I have my doubts , at this moment outside is supposed to be 1026 mb ,, when i look on my weather station it says 1029 mb .. the actual figure on the car does not matter , what matters is that they are all reading the same at least to the nearest digit or two .

hi yes i actually lifted it off when i did the filter change..... doh.
obvious thing become less obvious when your looking for difficult stuff. interesting clan... the map sensor in the intercooler was replaced with a genuine volvo item. the boost figure it gives is actually slightly higher than the previous one, however it doesnt match the atomospheric one which reads 996 regardless of when i have gone into live data. i wonder if the ecu repair/change is a waste of time, maybe i can open it up? am coming from literally hoards of bmws of various types, am a hydraulic engineer by trade, so bear with me on this volvo knowledge. am just stumped as to what to do next, however i will get the terminal kit ordered. |
