The site says that 240 was based around the dimensions of a Jeep Cherokee wagon.

Still - it's an interesting thread, and what a missed opportunity for Volvo in the 70s or 80s this was.

Yes that's correct. It's essentially a Cherokee that's been digitally 'skinned' with a 240 in Photoshop..........
