Pics off Swedespeed for MY2018, looks like base side bolsters have changed. Apologies about quality.

Volvo UK and the dealer have now come back to me and the car is booked in to replace the driver seat base leather, base cushions and heating pads. They have assured me this will resolve the issue once and for all!

Smile Update to my post #142

My Dealer's Service Manager was in touch yesterday to say the replacement parts for my seat were in and the work has been programmed in for Monday when my car is in for it's first service.

I have had to do no chasing they just submitted the details to Volvo UK as I said in my previous post.

Hope the colour match is OK when I collect.

Colour match has always been perfect on mine.

Mine is in today to have the drivers seat base changed for the 2nd time after 6500 miles. The sports contour seats have many more pronounced edges than the standard seats and I am concerned this problem with peeling leather is going to keep re-occurring.
Although a costly option for Volvo, I did suggest changing the seats to the standard Inscription seats if this was going to always be an issue with the sports contour seats. Volvo said this could not be done as it would change the specification of the car and they were confident this time that it would not be an issue going forward. I will be monitoring very closely.
Apparently less than 1% had taken the option of sports contour seats in the UK and that is why the option has been removed for MY18 and probably why there has been little feedback from other owners with the issue.
Although we have gone round in circles a bit I have again been impressed with Volvo UK and the dealer.

I was looking for an classic original model C70 T5 and the one thing that they all had in common was the very bad wear on the sports contour seat sides, thats why I never go for these seats in any of my cars. Every time you get in or out of a car with them you cant help but brush against them and eventually wear them away. Oddly I was looking at the new XC60 the other day and it looks like they are standard fit on all models with no option to fit normal seats.

Drivers seat base nappa leather, cushion and heating pads replaced. 2nd row seats TJ completed and Sensus updated. Again great service from the dealer.

Only thing I noticed was that I had 4 false triggers of city safety on the way home over 7 miles, all parked cars on the left that would not have triggered it before. Hoping this will right itself.

Just hoping now that this is the last I see of issues with the leather also.
