Hi! Nice car!
We both have something in common - we both inherited our Grandfathers blue volvo 200's and want to do some work on them! Except youre old enough to drive it lol Have a look in my gallery at what the virgo wheels would look like (theres a pic of the old wheels on the car aswell) Give the car a real thorough clean and wax. Hoover all the carpets and seats etc. Condition the leather (it looks a bit dry). Clean all the engine bay as best as possible. Then before even thinking about wheels etc get the rust sorted before it gets much worse! You will probably need to take the back window out to sort that rust on the boot. The rust behind the mud flaps is an easy fix - you could just fill it or you could buy one of the easily available repair panels and have it welded in and sprayed. Mine was rotten in the same place when I inherited it - we spend quite a while over repairing it but the end result was excellent using halfords paint matching service. 265s are rare cars these days so look after it! Steve

Hello and welcome to the forum.
A Volvo 265 is a rare car now a days. Well worth a bit of effort and a set of GLT alloys would set it off. Best of luck with the car.

Hi Seb and welcome to the forum, you've got yourself a nice project car their, a little tlc and elbow grease and she will be good for many years to come.
Suggestions from me, you could restore the leather (there are products on the market to do this, just google) clean the engine and engine bay, polish and paint engine components. Check out this thread, lots of very useful info, http://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showthread.php?t=41523 |

Hi and welcome to the forum.
Lovely rare car that we all hope will be cared for and loved. Nice to hear you hope to do somethign with it. Certainly a set of Virgo GLT) wheels would look good on it. There are lots of people here willing to give you help and advice. I'm trying to produce a series of articles on a lot of common maintenance jobs on the 240 which covers the 260 as well (except) engine. Mike

If you are unsure of how to restore them, then just ask because I know the perfect way to do it without going to any professional restorers or wheel refurbishing companies. Steve

There can't be many of those left now. Keep it standard and look after it. Keep the TOGs sticker in the back window, too. Adds a sense of irony

Put some mint virgos on it and get the rust sorted and look for some original volvo upgrades and extras.
