hi,

Does anyone know what Road Tax band the Volvo 740 comes under the on the new road tax system?

the 740 is not affected by the new laws i think

Tax band for older cars is unchanged (it's just the amount that changes!).

Taxation bands have only changed for cars less than 5 years old and the new Higher duty applies to only brand new 4x4s.

the duty rate for any vehicle can be found on the DVLA website by doing an enquiry for the vehicle concerned.

You will find that it is currently £175 for 12 months (£96.25 for 6 months).
This is current rate for all cars registered from 1973 to 2000 which are 1550cc or more. (It was increased from £170 in the budget at end of March.)
