Suspension tweaks for V40 2.0T
Hi
What's the easiest and way to make my V40 2.0T handle a bit better, especially in the body roll and low gear traction departments? It's currently on Yokohama 195s, which are pretty good so I don't think the answer is just bigger wheels and tyres. Would like to do a few track days in it and just get more out of fast road driving. Straight line performance is fine, but it lets itself down a bit on the twiddly bits! Thanks |

Better Handling
Hi
I suggest a lower H-Frame strut brace as the first mod. This allows the power to be put down far better and improves the handling aswell. Thanks Stuart |

Do you have a strut tower brace? If not, get one. It is easily the most straightforward improvement I did to my 2.0T's handling.
Gorgeousgeorge has my old strut brace on his V40 now, I think pics of it in his engine bay are in his gallery. What is a lower H frame strut brace Stuart? Never heard of one of those, is it a thicker 'sway bar' to use the American vernacular? Dan. |

Thanks chaps. That's given some interesting food for thought, as previously I'd only thought of suspension mods as being concerned with springs, dampers and ride height. To get a desired result with what seems to be a relatively simple modifications is good news. Thanks again..
