I think the new xc60 is a great looking car with a fantastic interior........but.....when I priced one up to match my current car it came to over £55k....now that's serious money, especially as I doubt we'll see any discounts to start with. Therefore that's practically a £20k increase. Can't see it myself

I read that Volvo will stop production of Diesel engines in 2023. So I might wait and go for Petrol/Electric model.

Really? I've had a quick look - expecting some similar disparity...
...but I found mine looks close to £43K....that is the MomentumPro with Intellisafe & Xenium pack plus tints. I was surprised how close it was!
Air suspension would be nice, but I don't have it now....& the list on my current one was about the same.
Probs a couple of other options maybe missing....but then a new one would have 4WD.

Of course, you are right about discounts, & that will be the kicker for many of us who feel like we got a proper bargain with our XC60s - like many, I got close to 20%, & I doubt that will happen soon....plus I may struggle to get something *just* over £40k with the new hefty tax penalty....but I was surprised how close it was.

I based mine on Inscription Pro as I'm a sucker for toys. My current car is fully loaded but as yours no 4C which this would have. So still comes out as over £50k...with no discount...ouch.

As I've now taken the massive depreciation hit, IMHO it makes sense to run it for a further 3 _4 years.

Instead of trading it I've just sold my wife's little runaround and am picking up a Golf GTI for a fun car. With performance pack it's a really great second car albeit it's worth a lot more than the Volvo now.

Ha - good decision!
I probs need to check, but I am wondering what toys are on the Inscription Pro that are not on the <Momentum Pro+Intellisafe+Xenium+tints> - I felt ours was fairly well loaded today, but can't see much missing from those outside air suspension and even bigger wheels!?
I got it up to just over 44K by adding:
  • 12.3" Active TFT Crystal Driver's Information Display £375.00
  • 4-Zone Electronic Climate Control and Cooled Glovebox £550.00
  • Heated Rear Seats - Outer Positions £200.00
  • Smartphone Integration (includes Apple Car Play and Android Auto) with 2 x USB/1 x Aux. Input £300.00

But that really only leaves fancy paint, fancier leather and air suspension, I think!?

Still, I reckon you are right.....drive the old faithful a few more years and have some fun elsewhere!!

I'm sure I would be in the same position. Most toys added. Not bothered to check the price as a D4 FWD manual is not yet available. In any event, I'll be driving my current car for a few more years yet !
