Cool 940 donor for 240 - what’s good?

Hey all, I’m looking at picking up a turbo 2.0 940 as a potential donor for my 240 torslander. Aside from the engine, what else would be considered an upgrade and would be compatible with the 240?

The 940 is ‘92, torslander is ‘93. Are there other swaps I should be considering here?

Like the whole drivetrain? The torslander has developed a clicking in the diff (from the sounds of it) when coasting so probably wants out.
Cheers

Just engine and gearbox along with all the parts that go with that.

Not much else is compatible at all

It can be but far from a simple job to swap. Best sell teh axle and if you need to replace your 240 one use a 240 axle

I am about to do this swap, I too have a 93 Torslanda, a 2.0, if I was you I would put a 2.3ltp 940 engine in, just more versatility with other mods you can do, and far more common to get. A squirter block engine would be best, so 93 on I think that should be, I think the later ones had bigger rods, I’m using a 96.

Have a think about gearbox too, I’m guessing you probably have a M47, that’s if your car is manual, it will handle a standard 940 turbo ok, but if you intend to squeze more from it then a M90 also from a later 940 would be good too, but gearbox mounting will need fabricating and prop will need to be extended.

There are a few other bits to look at, swap. This is a good write up to have a look at

Cheers for the tips all. I didn’t go for the Wentworth in the end. Was a bit ropey.
Interested in looking at a B230 but thought the B200 might be a sprightly alternative. Will continue to ponder!

Incidentally, user 360Beast messaged me but I can’t reply because I’m not allowed to message admins due to low post count. If you’re reading this, maybe drop me an email: bathalliday (at) the old gmail dot com
