If anyone wants to buy my official Volvo xc90 (2016+) dog guard, cargo divider and boot liner and you can easily get to PBoro, I'll be selling mine shortly

I have an XC60 coming next month and have ordered the official metal guard.
Hi BillyJay - Wondering if you could give us an update on the metal guard. Did you install it yourself (any tips?); does it rattle; is it a hassle to remove boot cover to raise/lower; does it adversely block view when in the raised position?

I installed the metal guard myself a few months ago, very simple but worth taking your time to make sure it is properly aligned. Very content with it, robust, no rattles and does not obstruct vision overly in raised position (less so for my wife who is shorter than me, but even for me not an issue). Not sure as to raising and lowering with boot cover in situ, I use a Hatchbag and it goes over the top so unobstructed by the cover.

The Volvo dog guard works fine on my XC 60 and I prefer the rigid type.
If I want the dog to have more space then I lower the seats and fit the flexible
one.
ref: fitting it was simple with a couple of nuts and caps

The dealers insisted on fitting it themselves although it looks pretty easy. It doesn’t rattle or block view although I hardly ever raise it due to two greyhounds in the boot. It’s only fixed at the top so to raise it you just pull it backwards by its base.

Sourced a used rigid fold up one from ebay for £90. Fitted myself in 15 mins, very easy. No rattles, no massive restriction on rear view.
Keep it down as we take our Malinois with us when we go out.
Why buy a new one when "preloved" are available from fleabay?

Any instructions for fitting it yourself?

What's a Hatchbag?

No. I followed some instructions for a V60 posted on here. You remove the plastic caps that are there in the car, replace them with similar metal parts and the dog guard fits to the metal parts.
