Default Switches

Looking at your picture I see three connectors. I think the white 2 pole connectors are for the cruise control switches and the yellow one is for the brake switch. I cannot see very well, but the wire colours seem to correspond with the wires in attached picture.

3/9 is the brake/stop light switch (this one you should have, but is not visible on the picture)
3/38 is the cruise control brake pedal switch
3/39 is the cruise control brake pedal switch

If you bridge the yellow connector, do your stop lights come on?

Following on from my earlier comment on the matter of the Volvo oem stop light switch.

Not knowing f.a. about the secrets of the switch operation and after deep searches I found this excellent video on YouTube that made everything so clear before I did the job of re-setting the 'hidden' (on the same bracket on an auto box car below the cruise control switch) stop light switch.

It would either fix my problem of the stop lights being permanently on or indicate the switch was fxxk'd.

Thankfully a reset without removing any wires sorted it ... once I knew how the switch worked.
