Default DPF replacement dose it actually solve the problem?

Hello,

I need some help, I have a 2010 C30 and have no end of problems with the DPF, the first problem was that the reconditioned turbo that the previous owner had put on was rubbish and was leaking a lot of oil into the filter. I had a brand new turbo fitted had a new pressure sensor fitted and got a dpf specialist to come clean the filter with new oil filter + oil change . I always use decent fuel with the recommended additives and do the advised weekly blast 😁. After a 60mile round trip with moterway and duel carriageway driving, later that night on its second trip of the day it went back into limp home mode with engine light on and code p242f and p2458 (power trains). Is there anything that the air conditioning could be doing as happen when I have had the air conditioning on or is that just a coincidence? I'm now going to bite the bullet and have a new DPF fitted, new fule filter, new DPF temperature sensor and new hoses fitted. As I'm sure you can all understand this has now cost me a lot of money, more than I paid for the car. Looking for advice will this be the end of my problems or should I now just get a new car 😭???

Sounds like it needs a proper diagnostic scan with VIDA (not a generic code reader). Also, you say you're using fuel "with appropriate additives" what are they? Volvo don't recommend putting any additional additives into the fuel as that can cause DPF issues.

I have had 3 diagnostics via the AA, my garage and the DPF specialist, all said its the same thing. The AA forced regeneration and pushed the first blockage as made it go over the 3000 rpm was told to put a fule cleaner in and I could then get home, then I had all the jobs done as stated above, fule with recommended additives Shell v not basic or for example tesco fuel so I can't see that the better quality fule could of been the problem. I now have a little black thing plugged in that sends info to the AA and they have sent me the codes. I just need to know if I get this work done will it be the last of the problem as I have seen many comments on DPF problems on here.

There are about 6 or 7 things which can cause problems like that . we here have no useful information to go on . I suggest you take it to your volvo dealer who are the only ones with the vast experience and technical resources to deal with your problem efficiently , Tell them exactly what you have had done ....you have already paid for the repairs once remember .. and that's how its going to go on unless you get someone who knows what they are doing to look at it for you .
