You don't have to dismantle anything to check the ring as shown in my video here.

NS driveshaft bolt - Tight
OS driveshaft bolt - Tight NS reluctor ring - As new, so confirmed replaced along with the driveshaft as thought likely OS reluctor ring - Visibly well defined square teeth throughout its entire circumference but substantial surface rust and scabby along its seam with the driveshaft joint. Almost certainly my problem so J&R sourced ring now to be ordered - even though the message hasn't appeared for over a week now! Thanks again everyone - especially the top tips video Cheshired5.

Hi all.
My ABS and and the triangle light next to it comes on when I have reached 40+ mph and when engine has been off it doesn't come on again till I go above around 30-40mph....also the power cuts out when I go round a tightish left corner at a bit of speed then comes back when ive straightened up...will this be one of these reluctor rings and if yes should I replace all...and are there 4 and are they an easy fix. Thanks |

I and many others think it's easy but it depends on your tool collection and handiness.
Only you know that. If the procedure was in Haynes, I reckon it would have a difficulty rating of 2-3 spanners out of 5.

Do you have to remove the driveshaft completely or can you do it on the car, with just the front hub slid off

Yes you can.
Driveshaft removal isn't necessary.
