on a side note I bought some 100W rally fog bulbs but am scared to fit them as I've heard stories about the wires melting?!

(lots of B road driving with tree canopies around these parts)

I had some 100w in my S80 a few years back and the bulb connectors (which were very brittle) broke when I had to change the bulbs.

Right it's my 5 year anniversay for replacing bulbs in my Volvo XC70 2006, last time I did this was in 2011..

The part I used last time was : Phillips 35w D2R Bulb: [Volvo Part 989833]
http://www.volvopartshop.com/bi-xeno...x29-4058-p.asp

However has anyone used any of the other colour ranges and will they be OK in my car?

ie
4800K - http://www.autobulbsdirect.co.uk/Phi...sion-Bulb.html

6000K - http://www.autobulbsdirect.co.uk/Phi...rade-Bulb.html

4300K - http://www.autobulbsdirect.co.uk/d2r...enon-bulb.html

5000K - http://www.autobulbsdirect.co.uk/D2R...-HID-Bulb.html

I'm kinda hedging my bets with the Philips as I know they last 5years from previous experience (3 Philps bulbs thus far in 10yrs and 190K miles, and the 4th one will be swapped out as I'll change the pair)

What are peoples thoughts, 6000K and swap the pair will that be OK? Or will they damage the plastic Headlight lense? (which is faded in any case due to sunlight )

the lower the K figure the more actual light generated ... 4300k is good ..
