ABS code 1-4-1 - 850-94
Good day everyone!
I have a Volvo 854, 1994 year model. I'll be making a longer trip later in the year and remembered that the car sometimes sets off the ABS indicator light. I wrote down the codes and this is what we got; 1-4-1 - Shorted/defect "Brake Pedal Travel Sensor". 1-4-2 - Shorted/defect brake light switch. Now, I figure it would be nice fixing this before the snow, so I have done quite a bit of research on the subject, yet I'm a bit confused hence this post. Many posts suggest that code 1-4-1 is the result of a the so called "EBD switch". This switch, to my knowledge is the following; Part.no: 9173210 Now, the problem with that is that this switch only applies to master cylinders from 1996- according to the parts list. A 1994 model does not seem to have this "EBD switch"; Other post has suggested that it is this "pedal travel sensor" located on the power cylinder; Part.no: 271892 Since these two sensors are completely different, yet some sources point to the same error code, I'm just in a state of confusion. Is there anyone who has had the experience of a -1995 850 with the error codes 1-4-1/1-4-2 and know what to do to fix it? Thanks in advance, Sincerely, Carl |
