Default XC90 2016 Immobiliser Issue

Dear All,

My car failed to start whilst in the Czech Republic (luckily we have a 2nd property here) and got recovered to a "Volvo" repair center. They have done a basic test and said the reason why the car won't turn over is down to the immobiliser.

However, they are unable to tell me why the immobiliser is causing the issue and say they can't perform a 2nd test until 28th May. The car has already been with them for 3 days. Volvo assistance took 16 hours to recover the car.
They've also said that the 2nd test & repairs will come at a cost.

Has anyone had any experience with this issue? Tried to start the car, all the electrics came on, self test completed but the engine wouldn't turn over.

Whilst waiting for Volvo assistance to recover the car I disconnected the battery for 10 minutes as I had read this could be a possible software glitch which could be reset. But no luck.

Any advice would be welcome.
