Looks like it’s been removed from auction already. Wonder why that was?

“Please note this vehicle has been withdrawn from sale and is no longer available”.

In big bold text under the photo.

:-)
As previously stated I offered him £4500 and he wasn’t interested. It has said remove from auction for a few days now.

I suppose the chap must have sold it prior to the auction then. I did notice the guide price was £3,000 to £5,000 - but that doesn’t mean the final price was in that bracket of course.

Well that's embarrassing! Even when i clicked on the link just now that i posted earlier, those big bold letters didn't come up. I clicked Refresh and again the extra images under the main shot came up - for a few seconds! Then changed to the "Withdrawn" notice!

Don't know what went on there!

Sorry if what i put misled anybody, definitely not intentional!

Strangely the "Withdrawn" bit came up in the screen shot but not on my display..........

MoT is slightly different - that is from the motor car's 40th birthday to the day.

one starting at a better pice, but looks a bit of a rust bucket and MOT history confirms that with multiple monitors for corrosion (ALL seatbelt points):

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1983-Volv...00ac%7Ciid%3A1

Referring back to the "No MOT or tax" for historic vehicles, i saw this on the government website:

"Vehicles that do not need an MOT
You do not need to get an MOT if:

the vehicle was built or first registered more than 40 years ago
no ‘substantial changes’ have been made to the vehicle in the last 30 years, for example replacing the chassis, body, axles or engine to change the way the vehicle works"

https://www.gov.uk/historic-vehicles...ehicle%20works

So the rediculously priced volvo with the engine change wouldnt fall under a historic vehicle if he has registered this as an engine change?

That 1983 car is a 'run away!' motor in my opinion, unless one just wants welding practice :-)

I'd agree on the car with the engine change (for a later type engine). If it had been a like for like change I think that would have been fine. I wonder whether the owner informed DVLA of the change in engine number on the V5 at the time though (was it a change in engine size? I can't recall). If not I suspect the men from Swansea would not notice - unless something goes wrong of course.

There is no check when one registers a vehicle as historic - the onus is on the owner to tell the truth. In both cases (a bike and the RB) I just turned up at a local post office where the lady knows what to do with the V5 filled in (change in taxation class), a V112 in lieu of a MoT test certificate, the insurance (neither of the last two were required) - and that is all.

"to change the way the vehicle works".

The engine change has apparently been made to make the vehicle work as intended .... not eally different from getting a re-con engine?

And it could temporary until the original engine is repaired.
