Default 123IGN B20 Curve Preset Request

There are a lot of discussions everywhere about 123Ignition and Volvo. I’m not intending to start rehash many previous discussions. Does anyone know the curve preset on the 123Ignition for a B20b? I have a tune+ / USB. The cost of access to fine tune is there are not suggested or preset curves available, so no way to know what the non-USB/Bluetooth 123IGN have. The examples are not applicable. Nine of the posts I read answer this question. Phil Singhers the closest I found to an answer for a ‘base curve’, but for a B18:

Nil advance up to 600 - 1,000rpm
11 Degs at 1,700 - 2,000 rpm
23 - 29 Degs at 4,600 rpm

I’ve got a B20e w/ SU HS6 carbs. I’ll need to adjust for the variance between it and a B20b. If I could just see what the B20b curve is I would be grateful!

I'm no Volvo expert but if I were in a similar position I'd be looking for generic information such as this =>

http://www.s262612653.websitehome.co...ews/timing.htm

Especially if there is a load of conflicting information / nothing to find from "official" sources.

It might take a bit of reading and learning but I guess following advice such as that linked above might get you closer to where you want to be...

Gotham;

I'd generate a graph (or chart) of RPM vs Timing with a Timing Strobe, and compare it to the values given in the Volvo published chart for B20s and 30s, linked here: https://www.sw-em.com/Volvo%20Igniti...ugal%20Advance

Cheers

thanks gents. I read through a lot of other peoples results and made notes on their engines, what the manual and articles mention for the B20 E and f of '74 and used it as a starting point. Can't find my long USB cable. I use the old Surface tablet to adjust settings, then throw it on the windshield, start and make observations. Pretty cool HUD! Verified my suspicion that my vintage Smiths tach is almost 1k high.

Due to an interface issue on the old 123 I could not verify it's functions. Been avoiding spending the money to replace, but it must be 5 years old by now. Electronics don't last as long as mechanical things. Trying to beat a problem that keeps returning for the past year.
