Default Amazon interior parts

Good afternoon all,

Does anyone know if new replacement or original interior mirrors and the vinyl wrapped cardboard base for the tray that lives under the dashboard on the passenger side (in a RHD 1970 Amazon) are available from anywhere I’m struggling to find them?

They do a repair kit for the under dash shelf but only for LHD and my car is RHD!
Sorted the mirror now do just the shelf to do!

Thanks for your suggestion though.

Shelf repair not beyond a DIY job. It's meant to be floppy so that your knees are squished by the rolled edge. Hopefully you have the plastic retainer clip at the outer, A post end.

It looks like the shelf is made from vinyl wrapped cardboard how would I repair that? I do have the retaining clip but didn’t realise until I saw it on a website!
It’s all there I think the actual shelf has got wet in the past and totally misshapen!

You could use the old one as a template and make a new one out of ply, then cover it with a suitable wrap such as fablon or similar. Or you could put a wanted ad up for another one, although I suspect most if not all are well battered by now. I find mine to be pretty much useless tbh.

Millboard or thin hardboard for the main shelf. New Millboard will be stiff enough if you select the right thickness. It's probably the same thickness as the adjacent side panels. Hardboard is less safe if you stick to the original design principles. They go bad due to water leaks around the screen. They are only for light Knick knacks. The handbook in its blue cover often kept there and many of them now days show signs of water damage due to this problem. £100 for the LHD repair kit is a joke IMO. If the vinyl parts are OK you should be able to hand sew them to a new board. I've not done it though. Carpet thread and needles?

I may just leave it out for now if your saying there are all but useless as a storage device!

Has anyone fitted anything else in the same position that is "period in-keeping" but functionally more useful, storage is pretty poor in my car it doesn't even have the door pockets!

Always nice to take these parts back to original spec or near to it if you can:~

If you can't do it from home why not ask a local upholstering company to take a look. Millboard is ideal for this as previously advised- all the materials can be purchased if required, Woolies vehicle trim- Segal Mcr- or look for classic car vehicle trim supplies.

For that part it shouldn't cost a kings ransom.
Good Luck.
