Default Breaking: 240 GLT Estate

Breaking my recently acquired GLT estate because its crispy duck. Crispier than I expected so its time to end its life.

140k miles (was put into storage in 2009 and hasn't been started since)

Has 1989 spec aftermarket air con fitted. Probably doesn't work but it's novel and I have the certificate of install too.

Sold: front grill, bare front struts, wheels, rear axle, tailgate, headlight protectors, door pockets, speakers, Mirrors, VOC badge, drivers bonnet hinge, interior, front foglight switch, door speakers

Everything else is available. Any part can be sent anywhere (except panels which are collection only). Need a repair section off the shell? I can sort that for you. Happy to cut chunks off it.

What's the front passenger door cill like for rust. The part you see when you open the door. Mine is rusting on my 1989 240GLT, so would be easier to get a replacement shaped piece.

Did it have headlight wipers and arms in good condition, that you hopefully may already have removed?

Aircon on a UK spec car is very rare, if complete worth saving. My heater fan is dead in my 240 for the last 6 years and I now use my 940 as a daily driver as has a working heater fan and AC.

The passenger sill has some rust holes in it. Any decent body shop (not an mot station) should be able to make a new piece and weld it in properly.

It does/did have headlight wipers. Only one arm is good. The other is rusted too far.

Air con is an aftermarket kit and no idea if it works.

Please quote me for the radio cassette if it has the code. You may even know if it's working? Also I would like the complete set of relays. Under bonnet, behind glove box and behind the centre console. If available please mark the positions for the small square ones as you remove them. One is by the fuel pump relay and I think there are at least 2 in the centre. They don't interchange. Thanks.

Radio was sold yesterday afternoon. Can do the relays no problem.

I'm hoping to get it repaired next year, so I'll find a good bodyshop in the Midlands.

How much is the good arm and does it have a wiper blade and which side is it for? I have an arm but the blade snapped off the arm.

Thanks. James

James which side arm do you need and which year? The wiper arms are left and right sided. My spare one is left sided. I have two blades with gantries but they are worn. You are welcome but new blades are a far better bet.

Only in case Ant's current offering is not right for you.

Antz that car has a rear wotsit valance thingy. I will message you....

I'm looking for both sides for an 89 F reg 240 Glt. Lets hope Antz is the opposite to yours! When you mean left do you mean passenger side/ nearside?

Thanks, James
