Cool Thanks!!

To you guys who invited my Wife and I to drop in whilst we were in Scotland.

Much as we've have loved to, we did have a fairly tight schedule, and so were unable to take up your offers. We'd primarily been up to see my Wife's Daughter and her husband in Kinloss where he is in the RAF. Their latest daughter, sadly, has some form of cerebral palsy, and so it was a family visit to all purposes.

Anyway. we travelled on to the Lake District and here are a couple of photos taken whilst we were away. We both came to the same conclusion. Photos don't do Scotland or the lake District justice. The Buccanneer fighter jet was outside a filling station in Elgin, and our Cairn terrier now has one inch legs having walked the rest of them off! We covered just short of 3,200 miles in the 940. No sweat!! Just like a train up and down all those hills.

Thanks Fellas. Really appreciated.

"The Buccanneer fighter jet was outside a filling station in Elgin"

That's what happens whenever the RAF turn out the runway lights overnight - the pilots just stop anywhere to re-fuel.

Sorry to hear about the wean - there will be good support from the RAF.

If you are travelling up again remember that the invite stands.

Cool

Just for information too.

Whilst we were away I was able to get some really accurate fuel consumption figures with the Garmin satnav economy programme and with careful driving, not speeding, (and you wouldn't DARE on the A9 where we saw several speed detector vans).... going very lightly on the pedal, and treating every downhill slope as a bonus we have averaged 38 mpg for the trip. We scored 85% economy for the journey.

I am well pleased with that.

And another thing.

Why is fuel 115.9 a litre in England, and only 110.9 to 111.9 a litre in Scotland? It's no good. We'll have to move!

Thumbs up ' Invite '

No , i don't take it personally 'really' ..ha ha ,...pity you couldn't drop by,..you realise you've both missed out on Dundee cake , Caramel logs , & tea made with renowned Scottish water , ha ha .

Good to hear of the stunning milage , & not surprised to hear of Vans etc ,..it's a huge money scandal ,..why don't we see them outside schools eh ?

The reason 'any' of us put up with our petrol prices ( & where that money goes,....but ' not in my name ' ) is beyond me ,..we should learn from the French , & block the whole country when these scams are pulled .

Glad you caught some lovely scenery & good times on your visit .

Positives , Lloyd .
