if you were there you know how it went . some only went round once some had car breakdowns . cars without official entries / or not displaying numbers .or leaving to large a gap. lots of small things took down the numbers who were included in the record

The second attempt was the successful one and some people had already gone home after the first. A large gap formed towards the back of the parade on the second attempt too, so all those cars were discounted. There were 807 valid cars from the first video review.

A subsequent review disqualified 7 more cars for illegally presented registration plates or failure to complete the course.

A great effort overall though and big thanks to the organisers for making it all possible. We've easily beaten the record even on the "official" number, and the non-GWR number of cars on the runway was much higher.

What is often overlooked is that over £17,000 was raised for the British Heart Foundation

Bruntingthorpe Event raised £17481 + Gift Aid for Breast Cancer Care.

Elvington Event raised £16750 + Gift Aid for the British Heart Foundation.

Magnificent amounts which makes all the hard work worthwhile....this is why a 3rd VOLVO600 Event is in the CookBook
