Rear central locking easy fix
In about October last year the drivers side rear door central locking was failing to unlock. There was slight movement at the button. As a lazy attempt at fixing it I removed the interior handle surround and found a white pivot for the door rods. Move the button up and down and you'll see it move. WD40'd this then notice a 1" grommet close to the door latch. I removed this, stuck the red tube in and sprayed whatever was there. Not sure which of these fixed the lock but I suspect it was spraying the pivot. Quick and easy as no need to remove the door card. Its still working now and immediately after doing this the locking had a better thud when operating. Was the stiff mechanism draining the current from the other locks?
Front passenger door has failed to unlock over the winter for the last few years but this year I noticed it was fine but failed the day after heavy rain so might be a connection getting wet.
