B200FT Tuning advice.
Ok so on Fri i am going to be buying a long list of parts for my Ovlov and i came across Chip on the Bay and i was wondering what peoples thoughts are. is it worth doing or is it going to be a cause for problems????
I am planning on also getting a Cam, Bigger turbo and better exhaust at some point, this would just be a temp thing until i get all the above bits and then get it custom chipped. Also i have see a guy offering to make adjustable Panhard rods. what are the advantages to these???? Another thing i am going to get is an Alloy Radiator as mine is leaking, Alloy Rad i take it this is ok??? Also when it comes to cams, which cams have people fitted and had good results from, Obviously i am guessing i still have the Stock T cam. i have the list of cams and specs. Has anyone fitted an M cam??? lift is lower on the in but its hight on the out and the Duration is about 20deg longer, heard this is good for turbo's

Only needed if you go LOW, in which case it is used to re-centre the axle. But putting polybushes on your standard one is a good idea.
The guy, Martin, makes other stuff too. The thing that'll make the biggest difference is the underbody brace. Can't comment on the other things, although I don't think there's much point in chipping unless you are going for big boost and bigger injectors etc etc. |

I'd steer clear of all but two peoples chips, and they both require getting from the States. Speak to TLAO (thelostartof) on www.turbobricks.com.
Why B200 by the way? B230's are plentiful and the extra capacity helps no end especially when spooling turbos. As Pete said, adjustable panhard is only required if you're getting down low as the centre of the axle moves over to one side when you drop it. I've spoke to people running standard rads even with big 5.0l + V8's. V/M is a good shout if you can find one, K is a cracker but rare as hens teeth too. T is good for a punchy road car but they really die over about 4.5k. I'll be running a KG004 from KG Trimning in Sweden in my (fairly) big B230 build. Look into a free flowing exhaust straight away as the stock one strangles them, what turbo are you going to be using? |

I cant sign up to TurboBricks for some reason, just keeps saying my E-Mail address is blocked. I'm not going low at all so dont need the Adjustables then lol. The rad i was looking at purely because i think it looks cool but also to future proof it lol. I have found a guy selling an M and i know all about the T dropping off at 4.5k, mines currently very flat up the revs and i tend to never really go above 4k because of it, great for MPG though lol. I am fully planning on a 3inch system but the guy i want to use wants £800 for a full custom SS system. Can i justify it on a car i bought for £350 lmao. i was thinking of custom making a side pipe exhaust myself but not sure if it will be OTT lmao.

Ha, yeah these things are loud without a silencer! You'd be brave to go side exit without a silencer. Obviously jetex do a 2.5 cat-back, wouldn't need 3" for the power but I can see why you might want something other than a jetex.
M cam isn't much good. Getting 250bhp can require a fair bit of effort, despite what some dodgy internet sources may say. 200bhp shouldn't break the bank, although I would say that if you go for a full exhaust system, get the downpipe made up to suit a 'flat' or 'angled' flange 15g. The conical 15g turbo's are nothing special (conical being what you have just now, so a conical 15g would fit straight on but wouldn't be the ideal solution power-wise) |

I've tried the eBay chip you've mentioned, it scared the poop out of me.... Not for a good reason, the car basically revved way past 6-7k rpm, whilst I having fun. It's not a bad thing, but its not good either, especially when you haven't prepared it for that kind of abuse yet...
The other chip supplied is called Fred, from www.hi-tuning.com

I think that guy offering chips on ebay was '7mgtesup' on here.
I've settled on an M cam, hardly any difference between the T. It should be slightly more torquey. I've got a side exit with nothing but a cat, it's okay and bearable.. but I like noise! End part is aluminium, been on two months, it's holding up.

No need for adjustable panhard rod if not going low.
Cam wise the M is as lame as the T. The A cam is a nice cam for a daily driver and can be fround cheaply |

There has been some interesting discussion on the advantages of the smaller bore with flame front and resistance to pinging |
