V70 P2 Brake Upgrade - 330mm or 336mm discs - 17" wheels
Hello
I am looking to upgrade the brakes all round on a 2006 P2 V70 2.5T. My current discs & pads are all due for replacement, and the calipers are the originals so 12 years old. I have 17" wheels. There are 2 choices I believe; 330mm discs all round from a V70R or S60R, with 4 piston calipers - my preferred option. or 336mm front discs from a XC90, with 2 piston calipers (not sure what diameter the rear vented discs are?). Can anyone who has completed this upgrade confirm whether either option will fit under 17" wheels (either with or without a wheel spacer). I've researched on the internet and there are various conflicting answers, both yes and no, needs 18" wheels. Does anyone know for sure?? thanks Martin |

I run a V70 AWD R . The doner vehicle for your refered brake option.
1) 17" pegasus are the ONLY genuine Volvo wheel you can get to fit over the brembo front calipers. Aftermarket ones is a some do,but most dont. 2) obviously 18" wheels will go over the brembo's Personally, ( although I run 17" and 18" Pegs summer/winter) I find the 18" wheels far harsher in the ride than 17". Winter sidewalls are deeper/more compliant than summer tyres i know, but I "downgrades". Knowing what I know now, I don't thinl I would have paid to "upgrade" to 18" Just my 2d. Cheers Bob. |
