Default 3-door passenger door or skin.

Hi, as you may have read, I have saved a 360 from scrap. I have now got the car going and it is ready for its MOT. Unfortunately the passenger door is rotten at the bottem and had previously been filled. Once I got the sander on it, half the door seemed to dissappear. The car is in Ocean Blue, so if anybody has a door that they don't need to fit this 1985 C-reg 360 GL, please get in touch. If there are no doors about, if anybody knows of a skin, that would do the job as the frame of the door is fine.

Thanks for your time.

Ian.

What about getting another coloured door and spraying it to match? With a little bit of practise I would reckon you could get a half decent finish on it compared to a half rotten door.......

I don't mind spraying another door, I will take what-ever I can get hold of.

Thanks.

Will have a look and see what they have in the local breakers. Do you have a paint code, as being colour blind all blues look the same to me.

If somebody can tell me where to find it, I will let you know, but the colour is not the most important thing, just getting a good door is all that realy matters.

I also had a stroke of luck. I put in the cars registration number at the dvla site and it tells me that the car is still taxed untill the end of November. I spoke to the DVLA and they have told me that the tax has not been re-claimed, so all I have to do is apply for a duplicate disc.

You really are short of money arn't you.

Most people are not going to keep body panels or doors, they take up too much space. Should be possible to search around a few scrap yards. You will need a hinge pin remover to replace (scrapyard will just cut off), I got one from Frost but it only lasted just enough to do the 2 doors (just the 2 bottom pins), the top ones can be hammered out with a punch and screw driver, but the bottom ones have to be 'pulled' up.

If you want an easier solution you need to use fibre glass matt + resin and aluminium mesh, on the inside then filler. Make sure the fibre glass seals the metal up, if you try to get all the old metal out and attach the fibreglass to fresh metal it should look ok for a few years. Although you still have to spray up, and it really depends if you can get a reasonably priced door (£30) it not going to cost much more than filling.

Definately short of cash, I am surviving on about £60 a week at the moment, so any help is appreciated.

As long as the bills are paid and the kids have what they need, I have no moans. It has been a bad year and I remember how much werse things were. I am lucky and blessed.

Not only that, I have somewhere to live now and a car to restore. I am also looking hard for a job, so you never know.

Most important, I am happy again.
