Well all sorted, volvo dealer identified the issue as a fault alarm siren, no idea how the VW garage identified it as a lock issue, but all fixed and bonus as 3 recall items were done when the car was in, and it's cost me nothing so well happy :-)

Default Same issue

I have had the same error message appearing every time the car is unlocked or switched on. No alarms, no beeping and no other (obvious) connected issues.
Local garage has run diagnostics but nothing is shown.
Secondary battery is in good condition and full charged.
I am reluctant to go to the local Volvo agent (don’t think they’ll have clue, anyway) so wondered if any of you good people had an idea what might be?

I have the same issue, from what I understand there is a rechargeable battery within the alarm unit which fails over time. The alarm unit is behind the plastic wheel well protector on the front passenger corner. Once you have removed the alarm unit, the cheap option (which I will be doing) is to grind off the welds around the metal casing and replace the rechargeable battery, the other is to replace the unit with either new https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/325249698...=artemis&media
For £230 or used for around £50.

Replace the siren with a used Mazda one off eBay.
