UK TV request - 850 BTCC

Good afternoon everyone,

I hope you are all keeping safe and well.

My name is Sarah and I work for North One, a television production company in Birmingham. I am working on a new series for Channel 4 all about iconic vehicles from around the world. I am trying to locate a Volvo 850 Estate BTCC car and wondered if any members knew where I might be able to track one down? Forgive my ignorance, but would private individuals ever have been able to purchase these ?

If anyone knows anyone who now owns one of knows who would be best to contact I'd be really grateful for any information.

Not sure if this is any use or not, but I've seen one in the Volvo museum in Gothenburg.

Couple of articles regarding the 850, that provides a little more info for you, if not an actual answer to your question.

"Only two of the original three 850 Estate racing chassis remain, so seeing an authentic and original one is a rare sight."

Just had a look at the North One Website out of curiosity. Some great programmes on there.

I especially love Guy Martin and Richard Ayoade/Travel Man. A couple of my favourite shows.

Good luck in your search, for what looks like will be an interesting programme.

A little more info, but perhaps less helpful as it dates from 2011 and I'm not sure if Pethconi racing is still in existence.
