S90 V90 Cars: - D3 engine consumption

Hi
I've a 2019 S90 D3 50k miles 6 speed Auto.Getting about 50mog max on long runs .
I had a 2017 S90 D4 8 speed 125k miles and was getting 60 mpg.
Any ideas,as I thaight D3 would be same if not better

I wasn’t aware they did a 6 speed, I thought they were all the Asin 8 speed box??

One would assume that if there is two different boxes with different powered engines one is just better matched than the other and offers that extra economy. Higher torque low rev.
