Hi

Last week my Xc90 developed a a knocking noise from under the bonnet that gets louder the more throttle you give it and faster according to the rpms. If you lift off altogether it disappears. Any ideas??

Check oil level first. if thats ok then is it ready for a service. They start to get grumbly when needing a service. There as been problems with injectors. An injector going down can make them knock. If it is ready for service then get it flushed at the same time.

Have just found out that the car is actually nearly a year old so maybe it could be the oil thats the problem. Only found out as the pre delivery inspection was carried out 23/07/2008 at the garage and then it lay for 7 months before i purchased it on 01/10/2008. So much for the 3 new cars theyd just had come in to stock at great prices. Wonder if any of the others are suffering so many faults as mine.

ask your dealer if your car's had the swirl chamber mod. Your symptoms sound like it may not have done
