Thanks will keep my eye on it as not too far away from me, but the £6k price is a little more than i want to spend on a 2008 car.

For the same price I have been looking at 2011/12 plate Octavia vrs

It’s actually a private plate on, so the car is an 09 - if that makes a difference! Does look absolutely lovely, not bad spec, looks like nothing needs sorting on it at all. Bit of a strong asking price but the new owner will love it I’m sure. That blue has come up so well!

Agree the pictures look really nice. Unfortunately the rarity of good quality T5's means that buyers have little choice and will have to pay the money if they want to play....

08 or 09 its not worth anymore than £4.5k in my eyes.

I have seen similar cars sell for between £3-4k

you only have to look at the grey one on autotrader that's been for sale for over 3 month's to my knowledge and that's up for £5k.

Yeah I think 4.5-5k for me, only down to the fact it looks mint and won't need wheels refurbing, paint on bumpers etc... all of those things bug me and would cost money to sort.

But it's by far the nicest condition one I've seen by a mile, and if the owner's in no rush – plus the scarcity of them – I can understand asking top dollar and waiting for a few weeks to see if anyone bites.

Now if it had sunroof and elec folding mirrors then I'd say it's on the money!

I registered my interest with him this morning and made an offer which he rejected. Its his personnel car that he is selling through his business, as he will more than likely get a little more for it through the garage as opposed to selling privately.

Fair enough, who knows if he might rethink the price in a couple of weeks time... Shame about the alloy wheel. I looked at the MOT history and it looks like it needs new CV gaitors pronto.

Exactly this. I've bought a few cars at decent prices this way.

I'm struggling to believe demand is *that* high. As I think I mentioned earlier, (used) dealers were really struggling to sell them when my parents bought their 59-plate T5 in 2012.

I suspect with a bit of nerve-holding you could get that car for a decent price.
