Northern BKV?

Anyone know if there is a Northern BKV this year?

Ive just done a quick forum search and cant see anything.

I'm sure there was something about it at the Sutton Park National, but, like you Ian, I can find nothing in the forum about a Northern BKV apart from a question about the date way back in January.

Its normaly held in Malton I think, and I'm pretty sure it was some time in July, like about the 14th or 15th, but can't be certain.

Was there something in the last club mag?

Hi Ian, The Northern BKV and Caravan Rally will be held on Friday 3rd August - Monday 6th August. The Best Kept Volvo Competition will be on Sunday 5th August.

The venue is best approached from the A64 going east, ignore the first sign for Malton and continue on until the A169 turnoff for Pickering/Eden camp. Come up the slip road and take the 3rd exit off the roundabout for Malton/Old Malton. THe rugby club is approx a mile on the left just past a mini roundabout. There should also be VOC signs on the A64 rear to the A169 sliproad for the event as well.

Although with Malton's propensity for flooding, if the weather doesn't improve soon it might be best approached in a canoe.

I'm on holiday that week so Hermione won't be there. Paddling through the West Country, near Minehead somewhere in a cottage!

Is this run along similar lines to the National BKV? For example - do you just turn up on the day at 9am and fill out an entry form with your VOC number?

Are the BKV's open to non members? I am not currently a member, but will most likely be joining soon anyway. I missed the National at Sutton Park, so I would like to get to this one if I can.

You need to be a member to camp or enter your car but no reason not to go for a day out to view.

It's the start of a new quarter on Sunday so if you want to join then its only 6 months + £3 one off admin fee. Go on, Go on, Go on, Go on...... Mrs Doyle style. You know you want to.
