Default V40 MAF unit

I have had a fault with my 2002 td v40 diagnosed as the MAF unit and I need to get it replaced.

I have been quoted an outrage sum of £350 and I know they are cheaper than that(at least I hope so) the number on the side of the unit is 170202 if that makes any sense since I cannot find it anywhere as a part number for volvo.

Does anyone know the correct part number?

Also where to buy from.

I'm afraid MAF sensors do cost an arm and a leg but if you're lucky, you may be able to get a second-hand one from a breaker. I've also seen some advertised on Ebay but am not sure if its the right one for your car. If you're a VOC member, you may also want to give Nordic a call to see what the best deal they can do is.

Since its a 2002 model, the car can't be far out of warranty either so I'd suggest trying to push VCUK to make a contribution towards the replacement part, as a gesture of goodwill. Even if you're fortunate enough to get them to cover the entire cost, make sure you make a contribution of £1 towards it because the part is then covered for a further 12 months manufacturer's warranty, whereas if VCUK pay for it in full, their company policy is to not entertain any further discussions even if the brand new MAF was to fail within a matter of days / weeks.

The car has lost power and the turbo does not spool up as quick as it did. Also it went through a period of sputtering power loss and black unburnt fuel out the back at about 80mph, that has cleared up but it still has less power overall and especially from idle.

The unit on it is siemens one not a bosch unit as every mechanic seem to think.

I will try Volvo UK thanks for the advice.
