XC90 Re-Map
Hi All,
Been watching this on ebay for a while and am really tempted. Current price is £295 or best offer with a 25% discount for the 2nd car. Confident we will get an even better deal if we had the numbers......... Anyway, here's the reply to my question in regards to free re-maps should/when Volvo wipe it out during a Software upgrade. so......who's interested? Hi Chris, Thanks for the email, normally we charge a £50 fee for re flashing the software but if you were to come to me with a group booking from a members club then part of the deal I could give you is free re-flashing if needed! (which will probably be the case knowing Volvo, especially going by your current rate of software upgrades!) If you can supply me with a list of vehicles wanting to be remapped including year and bhp spec of each then I can supply you with the expected gains etc. Regards Alex Pegrum Proprietor Re-map Performance Engine Tuning & Performance Parts Stratford Road, Oversely Green, Alcester, Warwickshire B49 6PG Tel - 01789 400554 Tel - 07912 110797 Web - www.re-map.biz |

Are no members interested in this upgrade? or are we going to hold out for a decent Polestar price?

I think the insurance thing is putting some people off Chris - now that Direct Line have refused to cover vehicles with any engine / performance mods, I have a sneaking suspicion that it won't be long before others follow suit.................

Swiftcover also state they don't touch any engine mods. Volvo need to get their act together and put the 205bhp version of the XC90 out as a genuine model....

The advantage to the Polestar upgrade is its covered under warranty all other 3rd party remaps/upgrades would not and surely void the warranty in some way.
I would only consider a 3rd party remap if my car was out of warranty. The Polestar upgrade is expensive for what it is and I would only consider it if the price dropped to £300 as rumours suggest. T. |

remap and insurance
I was interested in the polestar remap but the upgrade is added to the service history and therefore accessable by the insurers in the event of a major claim. Notifying insurers would seriously affect premium.
So think I will leave it ! |

Just ordered xc90 today...went for the polestart after reading all the threads and checking with insurance. very little additional cost for insurance and with all the extras the cost was probably a lot less than the £600 normally. The car on test drive had polestar so had to go for it as great pull for a big car.
