IF your only problem is that the ARB is moving sideways through the bushes , try these , just choose the correct size to suit http://www.bearingshopuk.co.uk/cadb1...-double-split/ refit ARB & then install the collars on the inside of the bush , stopping it from moving sideways As for rear swivel pins , WHAT the blue blazes is he referring to ???? I have only ever encountered swivel pins on steering axles & rear swivel pins on a JCB 4 wheel steer telehoist . Was he using a proper hammer or the silver & black MOT hammer ? anything else is a NO NO !

looked like a small pick axe with a black hammer head.
if I fit those will it pass? im guessing I would need to fit them either side of bush? would it cause issues with my insurance? the pin movement is on the back axle where the subframe mounts move back and forth. he had the ramp making the front sway side to side.

Evening Cypher , no just fit them to the inside of each bush , it stops the bar moving sideways . I see absolutely no reason for it affecting your insurance & would not even think of telling them it is such a trivial modification .
Good the small pickaxe with a black head sounds like our CAT ( Corrosion Assessment Tool ) hammer Think he needs to choose more carefully his reason/ wording of reason for rejection .

You could message Minty (see here) to see if he has a TDi/2.5D ARB but bear in mind these are all ~ 20 years old so condition of the bushes will have deteriorated some. In saying that the ARB and its bushes on my '99 2.5D are in pretty good nick after some 20 yrs/180k miles. If you go with another repair kit have a read of The Best Grease for Polyurethane Bushings.

Does he mean the rear suspension trailing arm link? https://www.volvoclub.org.uk/tech/se...Suspension.pdf |

I would presume so , Things like this are why testers get visits from DVSA for incorrect testing procedures . I personally would fail / advise it as trailing arm , chassis bush ( worn or deteriorated as required )
