No harm cleaning them. I would be a rag and soap type
More importantly, where is it coming from. Power steering reservoir?

Not sure tbh.

I will inspect the area closely and see if I can find the issue

Volvo have messed my order up so I'm going to get a belt from somewhere else. I've planned to do this work today.

Can anyone advise if this is the correct belt? People at euros don't know much. It's matched through my reg but that's not fool proof

Update:

I've changed the belt and the alternator pulley, however the alternator tensioner I got from euro car parts is the incorrect item. The one on my car has 2 pulleys on it but the one I got from euros has 1.

I checked all the pulleys/tensioners and tbh they all seemed good. No noises, span freely, no play etc.

Think I may just take it back and not change it at all.

Car is running great and all the strange noises have dissapeared
