Default Low mileage s40 1.6d problems ..limp mode engine light

Hi all .. I have a 09 s40 r design the last year ..1.6d model..low mileage (52k) .full service history ..going great until 2 days ago .the car went into limp mode and the engine management light is constantly lit on dash.. I had the codes read off a local mechanic and the codes were 444d (egr control offset) 2a40 (dpf trap system blockd) and 2a30 (dpf trap system over load).. I still have two months warranty left from the volvo dealer I purchased the car from..but they are a 3 hour drive away and getting to then involves taking time off work and at the mo that's not possible . Would a regen with an independent mechanic with proper software solve this ? . As I'd gladly pay the price of a regen rather than a 3 hour drive to volvo (who are horrible to deal with btw).... previous to this I hadn't received any dash board messages about dpf filter blockage or low eyols fluid or anything like that. .
Any help appreciated
Thanks

Just going to bump this...

Does anybody think this sounds like low dpf fluid levels??
Just checked my service history and it turns out it was last done 30k miles ago ..

If the DPF has got to the state that is blocked I'm afraid it's new DPF time. Mine did the same and wouldn't regen.

If you got it from a Volvo main dealer with the warranty not be with Volvo, so you could take it to any Volvo dealer to get fixed?

My local independent mechanic is doing a dpf fluid refill and regen for me tomorrow .. to be honest I'm a sick of dealing with volvo over the phone ..their customer service here in Ireland is absolutely disgraceful. .4 times yesterday I rang to try and get the car in ..4 times I was put on hold and told someone will get back to me .. not acceptable

I'll be surprised if a regen is possible. Once in a blocked state VIDA won't perform a regeneration. If you were getting particulate filter full you'd stand a chance.

I'd never got any prior warning lights or filter full warnings previous to this .. or warnings for low dpf fluid .. so that's why I'm curious as to why this EML and limp mode is constant. . If it needs a new dpf ..There's no way I'm going through volvo for it.. the prices are on another planet !!

We got no prior warning when ours went either I'm afraid. The additive tank was not empty and there was no dash warning that it was full before it finally blocked and went into limp mode.

Pretty crap really.

U might be right I'm afraid ..I think everything is pointing to a blocked dpf .. just a quick question on the dpf addituve I had the car serviced 3 thousand miles ago and the guy at volvo told me the additive tank was low it was reading 1/16th .. I was in a hurry at the time as I was leaving the country for a bit so I just said leave it I'll get it topped up on next service .. this is ringing alarm bells with me now as I think the tank could be bone dry
