Using up old diesel in a V70 PD TDI
I've had some diesel sitting in a plastic black can in the shed for about 5 years and wondering whether any one else has done this without issue? No biocide had been added to it and there was some growth in it. I've run it through a couple of paper coffee filters until it ran through visibly clear and all the growth 'appears' to have been removed. A coffee filter is something like 20microns. Read somewhere that injectors are around 50 microns so am I okay to now feed it into the almost full main fuel tank? Was tempted to just dispose of it at the recycling centre.

Perfectly fine. That Tdi will run on anything along with old Peugeot’s and classic Mercs.
It will also get filtered again by the cars fuel filter before it gets to the pump and injectors.
