help tracking down KLO694K 144GL
Hi,
I'm trying to track down an old volvo that I once owned, I suspect it's gone to the crusher, but would be nice to know one way or another. From the RAC Data check site I've got the following details : Not recorded as a total loss, not reported as scrapped, not reported as exported. ----------- I sold it 10th July 1986 at the time I sold it it was mint, It had just had a full respray and engine rebuild, so it seems strange that it didnt get taxed again a year later. Details from the DVLA are : The vehicle details for KLO 694K are: Date of Liability 01 08 1987 Date of First Registration 01 09 1971 Year of Manufacture Not Available Cylinder Capacity (cc) 1986CC CO2 Emissions Not Available Fuel Type Petrol Export Marker Not Applicable Vehicle Status Unlicensed Vehicle Colour BLUE Vehicle Type Approval null My questions : Is there any way to track down the name and address of the last recorded owner ? Would it be normal for a scrap yard or owner not to report it scrapped ? Would it be normal for an Insurance Co not to report it as a write off? does anyone know anything about it - very long shot I know .. Any suggestions on how I can do some more investigation ? Thanks Simon |

Hi,
I got an answer back saying the DVLA were not going to tell me. I stated I was hoping to track down the previous owner as I wanted to see if the vechicle was still existance and if it was to offer to buy it. The form seemes geared to having had an accident , I was toying with saying I'd been hit by the vechicle , with caviats that I think the number plate was ..... etc for other people this may be a better option, but equally may get the previous owner into trouble and possibly you into trouble, which may not be condusive to getting them to sell you the vechicle or give you information .... I'm open to other suggestions. I may phone a PI and see if they could get the info in some way. |
