S60 Electrics: - DIM S60 diesel and petrol interchangeable

Can I fit S60 petrol DIM into mine S60 diesel?
Will it work?

no they are different part numbers , the tachometer is different for one thing and shouldnt work due to the serial number being matched to the car .

Hardware is same. And as everyone know there is several versions of software. I used to use petrol electronic to fit diesel housing and just reprogram it to particular car.
